Here at Miss Mamie’s, we are big fans of the Ninja brand, and in particular their extensive line of powerful and affordable blenders. We love their thoughtful functionality, awesome power, extreme durability, and low profile in the kitchen. The Ninja is NOT your typical blender. It’s great for smoothies and blending, but is also a high-performance kitchen tool that can be used for breaking down whole ingredients like leafy greens, nuts, and seeds. Not too long only, the entire Ninja brand rested upon the shoulders of these high performance blenders, but in recent years they have transitioned into other areas of the kitchen as well with their perfectly designed Ninja Coffee Bar System and other cooking appliances.
We have done individual Ninja blender reviews in the past, but since there are so may models out there, we thought it would be helpful to do a round up of the best Ninja blenders, complete with a rundown of some of the best overall features, a comparison of each model, and all the other info you need to know in order to purchase the right Ninja for your kitchen. No matter what your budget or needs are in the kitchen, Ninja has done a good job at making an appropriate model for every tier of home cook.
First, we are going to go review the best ninja blenders individually, covering what’s great about each model and what to be aware of before you buy. After that, we detail in a more general way what makes the Ninja Blenders stand out in a crowded market. Outside of the durable construction and reasonable price point, there is a lot of unique technology that help set the Ninja blenders apart from the crowd.
There is a lot to cover here, so let’s get right into it. If you are interested in a little more background about the Ninja’s patented technology, scroll past the reviews first, and then come on back up for the model reviews.
Nutri Ninja Ninja Blender Duo with Auto-iQ (BL642)
The Ninja Duo with Auto-iQ (BL642) is a true powerhouse and probably our favorite model because of its versatility and the extras that come included. It offers many unique benefits that take the guesswork out of making unique drinks and delicious food. Once we got it out of the box, we were really impressed by its 1500 watts of power that pumps through it. We were in the habit of making a morning smoothie, and with the Duo, the time it took to do that was literally cut in half. Being able to set the Auto-iQ feature and walk away, especially on a busy morning where you’re rushing out of the house, is a very welcomed benefit.
One of the great things about the Duo with Auto-iQ (BL642) model is that the blender pitcher and food processor it comes with are so large. The 72 ounce pitcher with lid and pour spout allow us to make large batches of food and smoothies in advances, only adding to the value and convenience. But the real kicker is all of the extras that come with the Duo, which on their own would probably cost another $100 dollars or so. You get 3 tumblers of varying sizes (plus sip and seal lids for all of them), a large food processor for preparing food, and a booklet with 75 recipes to have you getting the most our of your Ninja right away.

Ninja Professional Blender 1000 (BL610)
The Professional Blender 1000 is a great model for those looking to harness the power and features of the Ninja, without going on all in on a larger and more expensive model like the Ninja Duo. While it doesn’t come with many of the extras that other models come with, this is no way means that the Ninja Professional Blender sacrifices power or functionality in the process. The internals are exactly the same as more expensive Ninja’s, they simply come in a more compact and lower profile package that some people prefer. If all you need is a powerful blender and aren’t going to be doing a lot of cooking with it, this is a great option.
The sleek black design with silver accents makes this blender not only powerful, but a great visual addition to any kitchen. The 1000 watts of power, plus the Ninja Total Crushing blades make short work of ice, frozen fruits, whole vegetables and other tough to blend food items. The 72-ounce pitcher leaves plenty of room for large tasks and big enough to make a round of smoothies for a group of people or the whole family at once. Because this model is so straightforward with very few parts, it’s extremely easy to clean the unit. If you don’t feel like hand washing it, all parts are BPA free and dishwasher safe making this a solid choice for a smaller kitchen or apartment.

The Ninja Blender’s Standout Features
The Ninja isn’t your standard blender. It is the result of years of thoughtful design and incorporating feedback from users to create a truly unique kitchen appliance that focuses on areas where many other blenders fall short. Here are some of our favorite features about the Ninja and what we believe makes the rise above most of the competition.
Ninja Auto-iQ Technology
Just like the Ninja’s Coffee Bar System, the Ninja Blenders make operation and more complicated tasks as easy as the touch of a single button. With their unique Auto-iQ technology, intelligent presets deliver easy, consistent results. No matter what you are trying to make, there is no more stirring, no more mixing and best of all no more guesswork involved in achieving the perfect result. Because the Ninja Blender is so intelligent, we entrusted it with tasks that would normally have to be taken care of by a human to ensure proper consistency.
With the power of Auto-iQ, time intelligent blending programs do the work for you and operation couldn’t be easier. Once started, a digital countdown timer shows how much time is remaining before shutting the blender down for a truly hands off blend. Depending on the blender model you purchase, you will see an arrangement of these five intelligent presets:
Auto-iQ Frozen Drinks/Smoothies Mode
With the frozen drink preset, you will easily achieve consistent and creamy blended iced drinks that rival the best restaurant or bar. Also perfect for breaking down frozen fruit for delicious and healthy homemade smoothies. The end result is always light and smooth.
Auto-iQ Nutri Ninja Blend Mode
This is the most general Auto-iQ setting, and is appropriate for most food and hands-free blending tasks. The real beauty of all of these presets is that the technology will sense how long the blender needs to run for and shut itself off at the appropriate time once it has detected the proper consistency.
Auto-iQ Nutri Ninja Ultra Blend Mode
This is your heavy duty Auto-iQ mode that is made for tougher to break down food that may be more dense and fibrous, which is going to require a little extra power. It’s also useful for larger volumes of food when you’re preparing bigger batches. We found this mode handy when blending things like large heads of broccoli and cauliflower for healthy soups and smoothies.
Auto-iQ Food Puree Mode
When pureeing food, the Ninja is extremely efficient. We have used it to prepare all sorts of purees and soups for countless recipes and are always impressed and pleased with the results. Because the Auto-iQ takes care of the blending time automatically, we found that it saves a lot of time in the kitchen as you can just drop in the food and get back to preparing other parts of the recipe. There is no more waiting by the blender to make sure that the food isn’t over blended.
Auto-iQ Food Pulse Mode
This is perhaps one of our favorite blend modes and is great for making things like perfectly chunky salsas. This pulse mode is almost like chopping food, but the Auto-iQ is like having a second set of hands in the kitchen. In our tests, we dropped in all the ingredients for our favorite salsa recipe at once, and the Ninja pulse blended it to the perfect consistency. We also found it useful for baking tasks like kneading dough and preparing the final ingredients for soups like herbs and anything else we want to be chunky, not liquefied.
Ninja Blenders Total Crushing Technology
One of the most frustrating things about many of the blenders that come through our kitchen is their inability to thoroughly blend ice. And while this may seem like the most basic function a blender should be able to perform, most fall short as far as our tests are concerned. Sure, they can break up the ice into uneven chunks, but with the Ninja blenders and their Total Crushing blades, you get perfectly even, almost snow-like, ice that is ideal for making amazing frozen drinks. It’s light and fluffy and no blender we have ever owned or tested has come close to producing a similar result. For this reason, we have seen the Ninja Blender showing up in more and more restaurants and bars.
The Total Crushing blades, coupled with the Auto-iQ technology, combine to make some of the best margaritas we have ever had. The smooth and creamy texture is better than what most restaurants would be able to serve you. All you have to do is simply add the fruit and ice together into the Ninja, press the one-touch Auto-iQ button, and let the blender take care of the rest. Since the Ninja gives you the ability to use whole fruit instead of sugar-laden concentrates, you cutting the calories and also making a healthier beverage overall. This is true for any frozen fruit beverage you decide to make, not just alcoholic ones.
Nutrient and Vitamin Extraction
Because the Ninja is so powerful, you can throw whole fruits and vegetables right into it whole and not have to worry about removing the skin or seeds. Aside from being extremely convenient, this has a more important health benefit. Many vitamins and nutrients are found in the skin of fruits and vegetables, so when you have to remove them because your blender isn’t up to the challenge, you are leaving a ton of nutrition on the table.
In the past, we have tried to blend a mixture or fruit, vegetables and ice but poorly performing blenders left us with a gritty, chunky paste that isn’t palatable or visually appealing. Juicers didn’t do much better because they just made warm juice that left out valuable fiber and nutrition. That’s why we were so excited when the Ninja blenders product a smooth, cool nutrient rich juice that’s packed with vitamins, fiber and tasty natural goodness. Green drinks can cost up to $12 at the store, but when making them at home, they are not only significantly cheaper, but also more convenient and available at the touch of a button.
When Ninja talks about “Nutrient Fusion” in their advertisements and promotional materials, what they are really saying is a fusion of foods containing nutrients from fruits, vegetables and others foods. With the food processor attachment, your imagination is the only limit fro producing unique and specialty dishes. One of our favorites recipes is for a vegan burger batty that incorporates vegetables and seeds for a delicious and healthy alternative to red meat. This is just one of many possibilities and opens up new doors for entrees, baking, desserts and more.
While some may write this off as marketing hype, we can appreciate that Ninja is trying to empower home chefs to make healthier and more creative decisions around their food and the meals they produce for their families.
That’s a wrap guys. We hope this guide was helpful, but if you have any questions, just let us know in the comments!
