Re: Texas Economy is Strong and getting Stronger

But, Texas's Conervative approach to growing its economy is funding its General fund and then some.

We have a REAL Surplus, not a imagined one Jerry Brown.

You seem to think that a growing economy doesn't equate to funding for the needed addition of Teachers and Social services.

Why would you think that ? Its not that Texas is refusing to add the additional services needed to accommodate a growing population. Its just that our way of budgeting doesn't include massive spending increases and tax increases as a solution to a get out of control unfunded liabilities nightmare ...CALFORNIA

Amd yea Austin is Liberal, but I've lived in Texas all of my Life and I used to live their.

Those Liberals are proud Texans. They dont throw in their lot with Northeast or Western Liberals in spite of their home.

Texas isn't California. A report was published in 2009 that showed the cost of Californias regualtions annually.

    500 BILLION dollars.
California didnt bankrupt itself overnight, and Texas is building upon a Surplus.

You can drill here, set up shop, open a Bussiness and start hiring a whole lot faster than you can in California.
And when you do start your business, you dont have to worry about a dishonest Liberal Governor taxing you retro actively...JERRY BROWN.

So dont get your hopes up. Wendy Davis reminded Texans who maybe thought she was a legimate threat for Governor what your average Liberal politican is made of.

Lies, misinformation, empty unsubstantial plattitudes and bumper sticker slogans.

All the cities in Texas go Democrat it is only matter of time. I'll use Alberta again as an example, the people moving there form provinces like Ontario expect better quality education, better healthcare, better infrastructure. I want to move in the opposite direction towards Quebec due to all the social services being the highest quality in the country. As wealth increases people tend to want more.

Oh you found some Liberal rag ?

A recent US Census report stated Californian had the Nations Highest poverty rate. 23.5 Percent.

    42 percent higher than Texas.

When you factor in Cost of Living, the average income in Texas is 47,000 dollars where Californias is 41,000 dollars.

A recent study that compared Test scores for 4rth and 8th grade students showed Texas BEATING California in Math, Science and Reading across all Socio economic and racial lines.

And the difference was Substantial. So much for your education narrative.

In 2009 the percentage of households recieving public assitance in California was 3.7 percent.

Texas ? 1.8 percent. And that number for California has increased since then.

California ns aren't moving here because its "cheaper". There moving here because Liberal policies have turned what was once a power house economy into a TRAIN WRECK.

California politicans have the answer for their States problems.

    Tax increases !! LOL !!

Re: Texas Economy is Strong and getting Stronger

It is great that Texas is doing well, but lets not gloss over real problems in Texas that a low tax rate will not fix. Water for one. Increases in businesses and population are facing now our water dilima.

We are blessed with a lot of natural resources... but none are unexaustable. Texas has seen its share of booms and bust. Eagle-Ford is expected to last a good 25+ years. There are a lot of folk moving here for those jobs and support jobs. If you familiar with the EF region, it is booming. We have to realize that those small communities that are building homes, schools, fire departments, LEOs will be hit hard once the boom slows.

These small towns had remained unchanged for generations. They have lost their "Texas way of life". Never to return.
